Immaculate Conception Church – Fairbanks,
Alaska
Archbishop
Seghers Council #5011 was officially chartered on
August 20, 1960
at Immaculate Conception Church. The first member to sign the
constitutional roll was the Bishop of the Diocese of Fairbanks,
Most Reverend Francis D. Gleason, S.J.
The council
flourished for over a decade, serving the parish and community with
dedication until a sudden decline in interest led to its
inactivation in 1972.
Reactivation and
Growth In
May 1984, Council #5011 was reactivated and has steadily
grown in strength and service ever since. Unfortunately, records
from the original charter period (1960–1972) were not recovered, and
a detailed history of officers and projects from that era remains
unavailable.
Council #5011
continues to uphold the values of charity, unity, and fraternity,
building on its rich legacy and looking forward to a vibrant future
of service.
